About Us

The Tampa Midtown Rotary Club is a service club of men and women who believe in the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace throughout the world.

Our Club was founded in 1953, and has a membership of approximately 35-40 men and women. The members of the Club are primarily small and medium size business owners or senior-level management decision makers.  Many of the members work in the areas of banking, legal, investment, accounting, insurance or real estate. The majority of the members either live in, or work in, the South Tampa area.

In addition to service to the Club, many of the members have leadership roles in other community, professional or charitable organizations. As a result, although networking is not the stated mission of Rotary, as relationships develop we often turn to each other when a business need arises.

The Club meets at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday (except the first Thursday of the month) at the Centre Club (123 South Westshore Blvd., 8th floor, Tampa, Florida). Past speakers have included elected officials, military leaders, business owners, leaders of the Superbowl and Republican National Convention Host Committees, the astronaut who opened the International Space Station and the former undercover DEA agent who was the character portrayed in the movie “The Infiltrator.”

The Club conducts several service projects throughout the year including Brew Ha, Ha Tampa Bay (a fundraiser to raise money for a local teen homeless center), and Cycling For Autism (a cycling event to benefit USF and the CARD Center in Tampa to help autistic children). Our efforts are so successful that we have raised over $100,000.00 in the past few years for local community organizations.

In addition to our lunch meetings and major service projects, we have social events throughout the year such as a “Steak and Corn” dinner, a family beach day at Ft. Desoto, and a family day at the Rays to watch a baseball game.

We realize that everyone’s time is valuable. In today’s world, it is often difficult to maintain a life/work balance and also participate in a service organization such as Rotary.  As such, we offer two types of membership (full and associate).  Please click the “Contact” link at the top right of the page if you want more information.
